Custom Modelling of Your Landscape in a Bespoke Wooden Frame

A bespoke model of your favourite city or landscape, carefully designed and 3D‑printed in resin to capture every detail of your chosen location.

If you’re interested in commissioning a custom piece, simply send me a message and I will work with you to ensure your chosen place is represented as beautifully as possible.
To help you visualise the result, I also provide a complimentary digital render so you can see exactly how the model will look before it’s made.

Layered Landscape models are based on real-world aerial scans, ensuring the city is reproduced with remarkable accuracy. Hand‑modelled refinements add extra care and craftsmanship to achieve the best possible result.

📌Product Details:

  • Resin Model - 190mm by 110mm (7.48 x 4.33 inches)
  • Wooden Frame – 196mm by 116mm (7.71 x 4.56 inches)
  • Model Colour – a warm toned cream / white.
  • Frame Colour – a contrasting dark brown / near black.

The frame features a hanger, stand and rubber feat so that you can display mounted to a wall, upright on a shelf or flat on a desk. I cut, assemble, stain, and oil each frame to create a high-quality product that fits the model perfectly. As a result, slight variations in colour and wood grain texture may occur. If you would like me to try and match the finish of another frame, please message me and I’ll be happy to do so at no extra cost.

✨What makes a Layered Landscape model unique?

3D printing can vary greatly in quality, but Layered Landscape stands out for three key reasons:

  • Resin 3D printing: Resin printers require far more hands-on post‑processing than common filament printers. The result is almost invisible layers and details finer than the human eye can easily perceive.
  • Complex LiDAR data: Highly detailed aerial LiDAR scans capture every nuance of a city or landscape. Working with this data requires significant skill compared to more generic models that rely on simplified building shapes and road layouts.
  • Handmade wooden frames: After extensive testing, I found commercial frames unsatisfactory in both fit and appearance. Designing and building my own frames allows me to keep prices fair while producing a stylish, high-quality finish (if I do say so myself!)

♻️ An Environmental Choice

I take every effort to reduce the environmental impact of my work, using 3D printing as a low‑waste alternative to traditional construction methods.

  • I reuse materials wherever possible, including cleaning products, and invest in durable equipment rather than single‑use items.
  • Packaging avoids bleached paper in favour of brown cardboard.
  • I use starch‑based packing peanuts; a biodegradable, compostable, plant‑based alternative to polystyrene. They even dissolve in water.
  • Frames are made from responsibly sourced pine, certified under the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification)
